Alexis Mathias, LCSW #113452
I am a daughter, sister, and friend who is a respectful, passionate, and proud Black woman born and raised in New Jersey. Growing up, one thing I wanted more than anything was for someone to be present when I felt like the world was against me. I finally came across those people in high school, and those people were my counselors. They changed my trajectory by showing me that it was possible to combine my love for people, advocacy, passion for justice, and understanding the importance of personal growth in order to be the person for others that I needed myself.
In 2016, I moved to California to continue and grow my career as a Social Worker working with children, youth, and families in the Bay Area. Since then, I have grown into a fierce social and educational justice warrior who understands the importance of being part of someone’s “village” and walking with them in their healing process.
A modern approach
“Radical Roots” was intentionally chosen as the name for my practice, because I believe that our healing medicine is within our foundation. In the roots of our foundation are our values and beliefs that have been developing since birth. I am here to help you tap in to those roots as guides along your journey. Therapy is an important tool to care for your seeds that you will sew in order to grow the beauty out of whatever challenges you may be facing. I am looking forward to being your partner on your journey to find what serves you and your spirit.
